Have you ever wondered about the history of your own house? When it was built? Who built it? Who lived in it before? What events — perhaps unusual — occurred there? You can learn how to find these fascinating answers at a special program presented by People Engaged in Preservation and Indiana Landmarks on Saturday, March 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the downstairs meeting room at LaPorte County Public Library.
Historic architecture expert Todd Zeiger, who is also director of Indiana Landmarks Northern Regional Office, will give this free, informal presentation to the public.
Zeiger will show you where to look for information about your home’s past. He’ll teach shortcuts to discover the evidence that already exists. And he’ll reveal tools to help you focus your research to find unexpected clues to reveal your home’s heritage.
Free refreshments will be served.
Realtors can obtain continuing-education credits for a charge of $25 if they attend.
