LaPorte library receives ROSE Award

LaPorte County Public Library received the Quality of Life/Quality of Place Award at the May 9, 2013, annual ROSE Awards luncheon. The award is given to a person, business or organization that recognizes that quality of life and quality of place in LaPorte County is of the utmost importance in retaining the current population, in attracting new folks and in encouraging visitors to return to our county.

The library’s mission statement is the definition of the requirements of the award as “LaPorte County Public Library is the center of community life with a focus on reading, lifelong learning and public involvement.”

La Porte and Porter County Convention and Visitors Bureaus give out ROSE Awards each year to individuals, businesses and organizations that provide outstanding customer service and contribute to their communities in various ways.

ROSE stands for recognition of service excellence.
