Ruth Evelyn Autrey, 85, of LaPorte, died May 4, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Leiters Ford, IN, on Nov. 16, 1927, to Bert and Ocie Davis.
Ruth was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church, where she served as a Bible school and Sunday school teacher. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother and was always surrounded by many loving friends. She loved her birds, angels, and above all she loved to cook for her family.
On Oct. 11, 1946, she married Donald Ray Autrey, who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Sherry Weakman.
Surviving are her beloved children, Ron Autrey of Hanna, IN, Diane (Jim) Vaughn of LaPorte, Dan (Sherre) Autrey of LaPorte, and Randy (Cathy) Autrey of Bethel, Maine; and grandchildren, James, Jennifer and Jacob Vaughn, and Angela (Jay) Hines.
A private graveside service was held. Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, handled arrangements.
