The LaPorte Branch of the American Association of University Women met April 8, 2014, at the home of Beth Le Roy for a carry-in lunch. Minutes were approved and the treasurer’s report was given.
Two winners of the Prominent Women of Indiana essay contest were chosen. The group discussed how to set up a permanent endowment; a decision will be made at the next meeting.
Programs for the coming year were reviewed. In May, Jessica Mich will return for “An Evening with a First Lady,” this time portraying Dolly Madison. In June the group will go out to dinner. July’s picnic will host the two essay winners. August is lunch and a visit to Friendship Gardens. September’s program is “Indians of Indiana.” October will include lunch and planning for 2015 programs.
