June 2, 1914 – A Union Mills auto driver hits a man at a street corner in South Bend and falls into the clutches of a policeman.

June 2, 1964 — LaPorte city councilmen tour the old post office at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson to consider its use as city hall.

June 2, 1989 – Foreign Minister Sosuke Uto is elected prime minister of Japan.

June 2, 2004 – Michigan City is facing its most severe budget cuts in recent memory, according to Mayor Chuck Oberlie.
