A large tree fell on a parked pickup truck in the 600 block of Virginia Avenue, LaPorte, crushing its cab, LaPorte Police said.
The tree fell at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, as storms were passing through the area.
Besides crushing the 1993 Ford Ranger, the tree also took down power lines. Besides police, the LaPorte Street Department and NIPSCO responded.
