Help the LaPorte Jaycees fill backpacks with school supplies for LaPorte elementary, middle and high school students!

Items needed include backpacks, all types of school supplies, and toiletries.

The Jaycees offer several ways for you to help:

– On Sunday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., drop off supplies at Maw and Paw’s Produce, located just behind Walmart on Boyd Boulevard.

– During business hours on any day through Aug. 13, drop off supplies at one of these LaPorte locations: either Kabelin Ace Hardware store, Maw and Paw’s, and Bethany Lutheran Church. The Jaycees can also pick up supplies for those unable to drop off.

– Contribute a monetary donation at jars in 1st Source Bank, First Trust Credit Union, Purdue Federal Credit Union, and Centier Bank.

All donations are being accepted through Aug. 13. If you have questions or would like to arrange a pickup, contact event chairperson Ross Ratliff by emailing ross.ratliff@comcast.net or calling 219-393-9533.

Every penny and every pencil can help make a difference!

The Jaycees provides leadership training opportunities for its members through projects and programs the members plan, organize and conduct in the community. Women and men ages 18 through 40 are eligible to be members. The Jaycees meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at their clubhouse, 406 Clay St., LaPorte.
