On a perfect sunny evening, the LaPorte Slicers hosted Logansport at a sparkling Kiwanis Field for a preseason scrimmage Aug. 15, 2014.
It was a sea of orange and black with the giant Slicer logo at midfield, bright orange end zones and bleachers, and of course players and fans sporting the team colors.
LaPorte officially opens its season at New Prairie on Aug. 22. Its remaining regular schedule: Aug. 29, hosts Hobart; Sept. 5, at Valparaiso; Sept. 12, hosts Chesterton; Sept. 19, at Lake Central; Sept. 26, hosts Merrillville; Oct. 3, hosts Crown Point; Oct. 10, at Michigan City; Oct. 17, at Portage. All games begin at 7 p.m.
