August Layman Stinnett, 61, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 4:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, in his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1953, in Panther, KY, to James and Ruby (Persell) Stinnett.
August worked as an engineer supervisor with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). He was a loving husband, father, brother and papa.
On June 9, 1994, in Merrillville, IN, he married his soulmate, Deborah (Ann) Stinnett, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sunsaerae Budimier of LaPorte; two sisters, Liz (Ray) Smith and Shirley (Bill) LaFever; one brother, Tommy (Linda) Stinnett; and two grandchildren, Hunter (10 years old) and Liberty (4 years old).
Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
