Jan. 26, 1915 — The legislature in West Virginia votes to allow women in that state to vote.

Jan. 26, 1965 — Kermit Horn, manager of the LaPorte J.C. Penney store, will head the retail division of the LaPorte Chamber of Commerce as chairman in 1965.

Jan. 26, 1990 — Jim Jessup accepts the Jaycees Award for Outstanding Citizen Over Age 40.

Jan. 26, 2005 — This was the deadliest day yet for American troops in Iraq.
