Laura Ostergren captured the lovely atmosphere in Fox Park during an Arts in the Park concert this month.
The Jim Barkow Sax & Rhythm Quartet will play at Arts in the Park on Thursday, June 20. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheatre in Fox Park, preceded by Joseph Watterson on the keyboard at 6:30.
Thursday’s Arts in the Park evening will also feature Dave Russell’s and Dick Smith’s artworks, and Susan Block, LaPorte County Poet Laureate 2009, performing some of her works.
The Barkow quartet entertains with classical, contemporary, jazz, swing, ragtime, and pop tunes. The group consists of Alan Barcus on piano, Christopher Bendix on string bass, Ron Hull (sitting in for Tom Milo) on drums, and of course, Jim Barkow on saxophone.
Poppin’ in the Park refreshments will be provided by Tri Kappa Associates.
