Information from Arts in the Park
Hoosier Star Night, rained out on June 11, will take place Thursday, July 9, at Arts in the Park in the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in Fox Park.
The free concert, which begins at 7 p.m., will showcase many Hoosier Star finalists from the past 10 years. From the Youth Division: Evan Wooding, 2006 LaPorte; Carter Perry, 2007 LaPorte; Grace Tarnow, 2010 & 2012 Mill Creek; Shania Povlok, 2013 LaPorte; Marcos Buslon, 2014 Valparaiso; and Madison Michael, 2014 Rolling Prairie. From the Adult Division: Rick Barnes, 2007, 2010 & 2012 LaPorte. Audience members will also enjoy a special performance by Nanda Danitschek and Tim King, emcees for the show. And LaPorte Little Theatre helped construct a backdrop for the show.
Come early; prior to the concert Bethany Lee, PNC English professor, will recite poetry. And artwork by Kay Termini and Rob Prellwitz will be on display.
As always, the Arts in the Park concession stand will have available for sale hotdogs, popcorn and beverages. And support Arts in the Park by purchasing a $12 T-shirt.
Brochures and schedules will be available, showcasing remaining summer concerts and donors.
Next week, AIP will travel back to the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s with Me & the Boys, featuring Mary Kay Steele, Peter Steele, John Kaluzny, Sav Amatulli, Larry Meschi, John Trimmel, Jack Collings, and Norm Garbacik.
