The 20th anniversary of the 1996-97 LaPorte Slicers Final Four boys basketball season will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Coaches, players, managers, administrators and others associated with the team will be recognized between the junior-varsity and varsity games vs. Goshen that evening at the LPHS Gym.
The public is invited to this special event. The starting time for the JV game is 3 p.m., followed by the varsity game.
Also, a reception will be held at the Silver Palace beginning at 6 p.m. for those involved with the 1997 basketball team, their family members and Slicer fans who would like to reminisce about that magical season. Admission to the reception will be $12; tickets may be purchased ahead of time at the LPHS Athletic Office. Hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
