Author-Illustrator August Edwards returns to Temple News Agency, 816 Jefferson Ave., LaPorte, on Wednesday, July 31, from 4 to 6 pm for a book signing. Since her visit last summer, August has had two more books published, bringing her total to seven. The newest two, “Little Henry Hamster-A Christmas Tale” is a picture book illustrated by the author, and her latest book is “Swagger.”
The daughter of Daniel Edwards and Jackie Jongkind of LaPorte, August has made four appearances at Temple when visiting LaPorte during the summer months. Her appearances provide a wonderful opportunity for young people to meet someone in their own age range having quite a degree of success. Aspiring young authors are urged to stop in, meet and talk with August and perhaps take home a signed copy of one or more of her books.
