Rose Marie and Robert Dure to perform in May 3 chapel concert

chapelRose Marie and Robert Dure will perform at the May 3 First Friday in the Chapel concert at LaPorte Hospital Family Chapel. All community members are invited to this free performance, which begins at noon.

The Dures are well known musicians in the community. In this concert, organist Rose Marie will accompany her vocalist husband, Robert.

Rose Marie has served for 18 years as director of music ministries at LaPorte First United Methodist Church, directing two adult choirs, a children’s choir, a youth choir, two hand bell choirs, and an instrumental ensemble. She has been a choir director, organist and accompanist for 47 years. She graduated from Bridgewater College in Virginia with a degree in music education. She attended Peabody Conservatory and Towson State University in Maryland for further musical study.

Robert completed education at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and the University of Maryland. He has performed in New York, Baltimore, Chicago and many other cities. He is a regular performer throughout northern Indiana as a soloist, as well as with the vocal group Tenors Three.

Rose Marie and Robert live in LaPorte and have two children and five grandsons.

The First Friday in the Chapel series offers outstanding musical performances the first Friday of every month.
