Jean Matve, 1927-2013

Jean Matve PhotoJean L. Matve, 86, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died April 28, 2013, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.

She was born in South Bend, IN, on Feb. 13, 1927, to John E. and Mary (Anderson) Livelsberger.

Jean was an office worker at Bendix and Allied Signal. She  was a member of Wills Township Homemakers Extension Club and AARP.

She was married to Henry Matve, who preceded her in death.

 

Her parents and one brother, John M. Livelsberger, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Alma Livelsberger; nephews, John M. Livelsberger (Christopher Voorhees) of Michigan City, IN, Joshua R. Lawson, J. Wyatt Lawson, Brandon N. Lawson and Carter N. Lawson, all of New Carlisle, IN, and Chad (Shyanne) Lawson of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Mary Alice Lawson of Rolling Prairie, Marissa A. Bowerman of Lakeville, IN, and Tiffany (Darren) Biggs of New Carlisle; and special caregiver and friend, Alverna Versmesse.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
