Mrs. Barbara Cebrat, 97, of Settlers House, LaPorte, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013.
She was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Chicago to Frank and Theresa (Hack) Hoellich and had lived in LaPorte since 1958, coming from Chicago.
Barbara was a house cleaner. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, sewing and gardening, and was a wonderful cook.
On Feb. 1, 1957, in Chicago, she married Walter George Cebrat, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and several sisters and brothers.
Barbara is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Friday, Aug. 23, at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating. Burial was in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, following the service.
