Youths at the Fall Kickoff event Sept. 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of LaPorte will be surprised at their new surroundings. The theme for fall is “Be Here,” and “here” is a refurbished Youth Room, a big project undertaken during the summer break.
Upcoming events organized by Youth Ministries Director Adella Dutra will kick off that evening with a coffeehouse concert with two bands from Andrews University and Valparaiso University.
“We hope to expound on the theme we’ve chosen for the fall, which is ‘Be Here,’ said Dutra in a press release. “We’re excited about being able to offer kids a room that’s inviting and really welcoming. We want kids to feel comfortable and at home here.”
