Marcelle J. Casto, 87, of LaPorte, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She was born Feb. 14, 1926, in North Judson, IN, to Moses and Lula-May (Burger) Shepherd and lived in the LaPorte area most of her life.
Marcelle was a homemaker and attended Kingsbury Baptist Church.
On June 28, 1946, in LaPorte, she married Edward Casto, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Casto of Kingsbury, IN, and Rebecca (Joseph) Stewart of LaPorte; two sons, Edward Casto of Lafayette, IN, and Harry Casto of Sebastian, FL; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Parker of LaPorte; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Kingsbury Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Williams officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Kingsbury Cemetery. Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
