The LaPorte Slicers girls basketball team won handily over the Vikings of Valparaiso Friday night, Dec. 6, 2013, at home. The Slicers are off to a perfect start with five wins on the young season.
Offensively againts Valpo, senior Delanie Alcorn led the Slicers with 22 points; sophomore Kyleigh Kubik also reached double digits with 12 points. Defensively the entire team produced. Valpo didn’t break a single-digit score until just prior to halftime.
The JV team fell to Valpo in overtime, 21-19.
On Dec. 7, The girls host Northwood and the Slicer boys play at New Prairie.
