In a game with a thriller ending, the LaPorte Slicers boys basketball team hung on to defeat a resurgent New Prairie team, 66-55, at Cougar Gym on Dec. 7, 2013.

The Slicers led throughout the entire game, but in the fourth quarter the Cougars erased a 19-point deficit to come within one point of LaPorte. But the Slicers buckled down to take the win.

The score by quarters: 1st, 17-8; 2nd, 30-21; 3rd, 47-28; 4th, 66-55.

The Slicer JV squad, led by first-year coach Joe Wagner, kept their win streak intact with a 55-32 victory over the Cougars.
