Mrs. Mildred A Sramek, 92, of LaPorte, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Fountainview Terrace Nursing Home, LaPorte.
She was born March 20, 1921, in North Judson, IN, to George and Alma (Spenner) Skibbe.
Mildred was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, LaPorte.
On Dec. 14, 1943, in Prince George County, VA, she married Raymond E. Sramek, who preceded her in death Feb. 13, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter Betty Zimmerman, son Donald Sramek, and brother Rev. Cecil Skibbe.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Dubyak of Bradfordwoods, PA; six grandchildren; son-in-law Michael Zimmerman of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law Becky Sramek of Indianapolis; two brothers, Robert Skibbe of Jerseyville, IL, and George Skibbe of North Judson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. John Lutheran Church, LaPorte, with Pastor Ronald Brauer officiating. Visitation will be at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Friday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, LaPorte, following the service.
