Have you ever visited the beautiful LaPorte County Courthouse? Have you taken note of the interior features of the structure? We see the outside of this building regularly in passing, but rarely have we the need to visit and note the beauty inside.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. at the museum, “The Inside Story of the LaPorte County Courthouse” will be presented by LaPorte

Among this historic structure’s notable items of interest are the stained-glass windows, the skylight, the ironwork, and much more. This is an opportunity to discover the many historically significant items within this building that are not ordinarily seen by visitors. The courthouse is included on the National Register of Historic Places, so designated on Sept. 15, 1983.

This program is free; regular museum admission fees of just a few dollars will apply. The LaPorte County Historical Society Museum is located at 2405 Indiana Ave. and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10–4:30.
