Warnings were issued at least 24 hours in advance about fiercely strong rip tides and high waves on Lake Michigan as a Canadian high-pressure system entered Tuesday, July 23, 2013. But some braved the elements to witness both the beauty and the power of the Great Lake.
WSBT-TV reported that three people were plucked from the lake in Michigan City Tuesday afternoon. Those who witnessed nature’s fury at a safer distance, such as WNLP’s Mike Kellems, captured some majestic images.
